Why Buy Wooden Toy Planes?
With the advent of different forms of
entertainment, children regularly get to watch airplanes, rockets and other airborne vehicles on television or
on the internet. They also get to read about it in books and other reading materials. More often than not,
their interest is tickled and they start to wonder how it would feel like to fly a plane or be in a plane.
It’s unfortunate that wooden toy planes have been overlooked as a possible staple in the playroom.
There is indeed something magical and unbelievable when it comes to flying.
There’s a huge possibility that every kid wishes he/she could fly. The more expensive options that parents
immediately turn to is buying electronic toy planes from the toy store. These planes have the capability to “fly”
via remote control but if you think about it, it’s much like playing a video game. Sure, the child has control but
it does not offer a lot when it comes to a child’s substantial enjoyment.
For this, parents must go back to basics. These kinds of electronic and plastic
toys are more advanced than usual and they require parental supervision, are not very durable and quite expensive
to maintain. Imagine the extra costs of repairing and maintaining (paying for batteries). Even worse, once they
break down, there are few options for repair. What parents need is a more durable, simpler, less expensive yet more
enjoyable alternative. This is where wooden toy planes come in.
Aside from its more practical purposes, wooden toys offer a
sense of simplicity that a child must be used to before being given more extravagant and complex toys. The
basic and simple nature of a wooden toy plane would entail the child to use his imagination as to flying. It
would indeed be more effective (and cute at that) if the child would carry the plane him/herself and fly it
around and make sounds. This is the more natural and enjoyable way to experience “flying” at an early
age.
Compared to just simply using remote controls and flying it around while sitting
down, playing with a simpler toy plane promotes physical and as well as imaginative activity. The child would be
moving around and will be able to be more “hands-on” with his/her toy. Furthermore, these toys are durable and
safe. The only maintenance they would need is cleaning and this could be done quickly.
Indeed, wooden toy planes offer simpler and less expensive toy options for kids. It is also more enjoyable, more
personal and offer more opportunities for the imagination to be developed. These may be springboards for
inspiration to be future pilots or astronauts. The possibilities are very much to the advantage of the child.
Remember---the simpler, the better!
